1. Your extracurriculars matter 

Be involved in your dream industry in your free time by showing an interest in taking up reading books related to your sector, completing additional courses online etc. This extends your ‘I want to go the distance’ attitude to the employer and how eager you are to land the job.

You can also be active members of institutions related to your industry and take part in online events and forums. Mentioning this in your CV makes you stand out as a well rounded professional in your industry.

To successfully ace your interview the first step is to practice what you would say about yourself and your experience. During the interview speak in a sense that you are already working at the job by talking about what you would contribute to the company and the changes you can bring about. You could also offer suggestions and illustrate a new perspective of the company that you have found out during your research. 

Stay attentive to your interviewer and when in doubt don’t feel afraid to ask questions. In addition, to feel confident for your interview, dress smart and keep a strong approachable body language.
