JOB DESCRIPTION
Lead Auditor - Food for Knowledge Business:
REPORTING LINE
• Head Technical
 LOCATION
• Mumbai
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES
• Audit report preparation
• Responding to technical queries.
• Sending Audit Packs to Certifying office within stated timeline
• Submission of Updated Audit Logs
• Conducting Trainings
• Nos. of audit man-days employed in audits and trainings
• Turn around time of sending audit packs to certifying office post audits
• Technical accuracy as per guidelines of audits packs
• Sociable with good market recognition and understanding
• Technical Knowledge on the food sector audited
• Presentable with the right mix of authority and convincing capability
• Analytical capability and prompt decision making capability
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITES
• Lead all certification and re-certification audits.
• Lead surveillance, scope change and other audits where the team consists of more than one person
• Prepare the audit plan.
• Review audit findings and reach a consensus on the conclusion during certification, recertification and
surveillance audit at the time of auditors review in private.
• Completeness check for certifications, recertification and surveillance audit package by audit team
leader before submission for further review to the certification office.
• Maintain the Turn Around Time (TAT) for audit pack submission for Second Party and Third-Party
Audit.
• Lead auditor and Auditor shall be engaged 75% of available audit Man-Days • Accompany audit Team
Leader and independently participate in audit.
• At all times, adopt a safe behavior by exercising due regard for the health and safety of SGS
employees and clients, in line with SGS policies and procedures
• At all times, comply with SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct
PROFILE
Qualifications:
• Essential: Graduate/ Post Graduate in Food Science ( having specialization in Food Microbiology, Food
Processing fundamentals and Food Chemistry including food analysis) Desirable: Sound food industry
work experience (minimum 5 years) with knowledge/ experience in implementing food safety
management systems with good Communication Skills (English, Hindi & Gujarati,), pleasing personality
and proficient in computer usage
• Desirable: Technological Graduate/ Post Graduate in Food Science, Microbiology with lead auditor
certification for any management service, three days course on HACCP.
• Specialization: FSSC and BRC GS Food approved auditor

Experience Profile :
• Minimum Years : 05 Maximum Years : 10
Scope of job /Activities handled: Out of 5 years work experience in food processing 2 years must have
experience in Quality department and has knowledge of Quality management system

• Plan, organize and implement the audit plan
• Coach team members on the auditing activities
• Interact with all levels of management, consultants and clients
